There are several aspects of marketing you should consider when it comes to getting the word out about your NFT project. We’ve talked about getting thought leaders on board, paid and non-paid advertising methods, but today, we’re going to talk about something that’s completely free to use:
What Is a Hashtag
The hashtag looks like this: #. You’ve got it, it’s the number symbol, pound symbol, you can even call it a crooked Tic Tac Toe board. No matter what you call it, it’s a must in marketing your NFT project.
You see, hashtags are used by social networks to group posts together, making it easy for the end user to find what they’re looking for when they’re looking for it. To do so, socialites use the hashtag followed by a phrase to join these lists.
For example, a post about NFTs should always include the hashtag “#NFTs.”
How to Use a Hashtag to Build Awareness for Your NFT Project
Hashtags are a social marketing tool – which is important for NFT projects because NFTs are a social product. There are a few ways to take advantage of the hashtag in your NFT marketing efforts.
Take Advantage of Popular Hashtags
There are several hashtags that have risen in popularity on social media. Use them in your posts. For example, #NFT, #Crypto, and #Blockchain are all featured in thousands of social media posts every single day.
Make sure your posts show up in these hashtag feeds by using these popular tags every time you publish something new.
Invent Your Own Hashtag
If you can get people using your own hashtag, you’ve hit the big leagues. So, how do you do it?
- Brainstorm. Think of a hashtag that’s related to your project and has the potential to be a catchy saying for social media users and NFT enthusiasts. This may take quite a bit of brainstorming, but the end result is worth it.
- Start Using Your Hashtag. Start using your unique hashtag in every post you publish. Remember to use popular hashtags too so plenty of people see it.
- Encourage Use. Finally, encourage your followers to use your hashtag. This could be as simple as a post saying something like “Use the ___ hashtag if you’re ready to take your collection to the next level.” You can even launch a drawing to give away a prize to lucky winners that creatively use your hashtag.
Create Conversations Around Your Hashtag
Any time you’re on a social chat board or any other social media, use your hashtag in your conversations. This may lead to questions, creating conversations about your hashtag itself – and hopefully increasing its use in the metaverse.
