Sebastian Maniscalco Surprises New York Audience with NFTs
At a recent show in the New York Aria, Sebastian Maniscalco surprised his fans by giving away free commemorative NFTs to ticket holders. He’s the first comedian to make such a move.
The NFTs were designed by the comedian’s wife, Lana Gomez, and will be uniquely designed for each show. The tokens are gold shaded and minted by Ticketmaster. The tokens feature each audience member’s individual section, row, and seat.
According to various reports, those that now hold the NFTs in the collection will receive exclusive access to future offers and events from the comedian.
The free digital collectibles were given to fans that purchased tickets to the “Nobody Does This Tour” in Toronto, Madison Square Garden, Prudential Center, Barclays Center, and UB Arena.
Between the four New York area shows, the comedian will be playing to more than 80,000 attendees following sold out shows that have included a comedy record for Chicago’s United Center with 21,286 fans.
According to various reports, a portion of the proceeds from the Tour will benefit Maniscalco and Gomez’s foundation, Tag You’re It!, which supports U.S. veterans, Alzheimer’s disease, and children’s education.
