Dolly Parton is one of the most successful country musicians that have ever lived, and her newest music is going to be available in the metaverse. According to recent reports, Dolly Parton’s newest album will be sold as NFTs in the Dollyverse, Dolly Parton’s metaverse.
Dolly Parton Album NFTs
According to various reports, Dolly Parton has teamed up with Fox Entertainment’s Blockchain Creative Labs. The partnership was created ahead of Dolly’s first novel “Run, Rose, Run,” along with a music album that will launch on the Dollyverse web experience.
The launch will take place at the South by Southwest festival next week.
Parton, a country music legend, will make her first-ever appearance at SXSW on March 18. The appearance will take place during Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater. During her appearance, Parton will talk about her book with co-author James Pattersen and perform songs, both classic hits and some from her new album.
According to the reports, the entire event will be available via live stream, free on Dollyverse. During the event, fans will be able to buy official and certified NFT collectibles. Some of these collectibles include limited-edition NFTs of the album and a limited series of NFT artwork that was inspired by Dolly herself.
If you attend the performance in person, you’ll also be able to claim a free NFT while streaming fans will receive tokens for their participation.
This news makes history. After all, BCL is the first ever Blockchain sponsor of SXSW. Moreover, the festival is getting into the NFT action. Artists of all types that participate in the festival will also be able to create, distribute, and sell NFTs of their work.
In a statement, Dolly Parton had the following to offer:
“There’s almost nothing more important to me than connecting with my fans. And I’m almost always up for trying something new and different. I’d say releasing NFTs at my first ever appearance at SXSW, with James Patterson by my side, definitely counts as new and different!”
The above statement was followed up by Scott Greenberg, CEO at BCL. Here’s what he had to say:
“I am a huge Dolly Parton fan. Who isn’t? She is a national treasure, whose important contributions to the world transcend her incredible work as an entertainer. Dolly is a true pioneer who brings the highest level of quality, heart and authenticity to everything she touches, which is why she’s the perfect person to introduce to the mainstream audience an easy-to-use, Web3 experience that will live stream her SXSW event and provide them the opportunity own and enjoy her music — not just a right to stream it – all designed to bring Dolly even closer to her fans.”
Finally, Hugh Forrest, Chief Programming Officer for SXSW, had the following to offer:
“Dolly Parton’s participation in SXSW 2022 fulfills one of our longtime goals and we’re absolutely ecstatic to have her involved in this year’s event in such a unique way. Beyond her legendary status in the music industry, Dolly embodies the SXSW spirit as she extends her unique brand of creativity across many verticals. Most importantly, Dolly serves as an inspirational and unifying role model for millions of fans — spanning different ages, occupations, and viewpoints — from all over the world.”
The Bottom Line
The bottom line here is simple. As NFTs and the metaverse continue to grow in popularity, we’re seeing more and more artists dive into the action. Now, even legends like Dolly Parton are getting involved, leading to a fast-paced expansion of NFT popularity.
